The back bank at the new house has been an ongoing project and you’ll have seen us remove the black plastic sheeting from in a recent video (https://youtu.be/G-9ZdLAxI4I). Today I show you exactly what it will be in the future — a sixty-foot long native hedgerow made up of sloes, crabapple, elder, cherry plum, hazel, and much more! It’s a Gin Makers Hedge and one that will be beneficial for wild birds and animals but a place that I can forage from in the future too!

This is a planting video and I take you through what bareroot shrubs are, an introduction to the bundle of hedgerow plants I have, and how to plant them into a single dense hedge. As usual, Maggie makes several appearances and nearly destroys some of my plantings too 😹
