March in the Allotment Garden

March in the allotment garden is bright and sunny and full of life. The potatoes went in last week on the first day of spring and at home I’m sowing plenty of seeds for this year’s veggie patch.

In this video we’ll be looking at most of the beds in the garden and I’ll be running you through what’s in them now and what they’ll be growing this summer. Don’t hold me to my word though since I’m one of those gardeners who changes her mind at the last minute.

Although much of the garden looks bare there are also some delicious crops waiting to be picked. The purple sprouting broccoli is out in full force and I pick another meal full. Also ready for harvest is the sweet and tender forced rhubarb. It’s bright pink and is going to make a delicious homemade rhubarb crumble tonight for dinner.
