March Garden Tour

March is a changeable month and just a couple of weeks ago the garden was frozen and cold. Now less than a week after the spring equinox, I take you on a look around the allotment garden.

There’s plenty of mulching that’s been done (and needs doing) and plenty of in-progress clearing and tidying. There’s also signs that perennial fruit bushes and plants are waking up. Green leaves are unfurling and at least one rhubarb plant is ready for harvesting!

In this video:
✽ An update on the Seed Swap and the honeybees
✽ A tour around my allotment garden and a look at what’s growing
✽ A peek at what’s happening on other people’s plots
✽ Planting a hedge made up of native edibles including crab apple, wild pear, wild cherry, Elder, and various wild roses — all courtesy of Hopes Grove Nurseries. This is the selection I planted: https://www.hopesgrovenurseries.co.uk/shop/mixed-native/gin-makers-hedge-mix-mixed-native/
