With the new year ushering in, it’s a great time to take stock of what we have in the garden shed. Many of us find ourselves with more plant pots, trays, gardening products, seeds, and even plants than we know what to do with.

Clearing what we don’t use and don’t need is not only a way to free up space but to create motivation to work outdoors. In our sheds and garages it creates physical and mental space. In our gardens it creates physical space to express our horticultural creativity.

A few years ago I realized that I was hoarding things. Stuff in the attic, in cupboards, and also in the garden shed. It was a weight on my shoulders and I wanted to do something about it. I started tidying and selling things and then eventually came across Marie Kondo’s principles in her book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

This video is my interpretation of her principles but instead of used in the house, they’re used for the garden. I also share some of my personal seed organization tips.
