It’s road trip time friends! Earlier this week Jerry, Jackson and I took a day trip to Dothan Trees in Cameron, SC to pickup some gorgeous trees for a few landscape projects. This area of South Carolina is near and dear to my heart because my Uncle Tommy is the owner of the nursery, and I spent many summers here visiting my Grandmama Betty and extended family. It was so good to go home again! Dothan Trees sits on approximately 300 acres and grows around 100 different varieties of trees. Come take a ride with us and see how a wholesale tree nursery operates; you will love all of the beautiful trees they have!

Are you a landscaper or nursery looking for a great tree supplier? If so, check out Dothan Trees at https://dothantrees.com

I discovered charentais melons (or as I call them fancy french melons) this year. I grew them outside in my garden and managed to get one delicious fruit. I saved the seeds and I am not trying to grow them hydroponically in my Aerogarden Farm Plus.

I am also incredibly excited about getting one of the first personal Rise Gardens in the next week or so. I talk a bit about some of my frustrations with Aerogardens and why I am so excited to finally try one of the Rise Gardens!!!

I used to struggle growing onions for a few key reasons: I was growing the wrong types, and planting at the wrong times. These mistakes are CRUCIAL to avoid with onions, which start to produce bulbs based on the day-length of your growing zone. Choose the wrong ones, and you’ll never get them to bulb up into epic onions.

In this video we take a look at the Ariens commercial 21 inch single stage snow blower. On the day this was filmed we had a ton of snow around 8-10 inches by the end of the day. During this video we are clearing about 3-4 inches of snow, mainly fluffy snow. This Ariens snow blower blew through it like it was nothing. Pay attention to how clean the driveway is when I am done. Not to mention how fast I was able to clear this driveway, in just over 3 minutes!! For more information on this snow blower click here: https://www.ariens.com/en-us/power-equipment/snow-products/snow-blowers/professional-21.

I often get asked how I created my allotment vegetable garden, and have touched upon the topic of using sheet mulch a few times, but not in detail. In this video, I’ll introduce you to three types of sheet mulch, the pros, and cons of each, how they’re used, and I’ll also show you how they’re currently being used across our allotment field.

I’ve used all three types to create garden beds in both the allotment and home garden and recommend the sheet-mulch method for creating your own low-effort no-dig garden. Get it laid now, and your growing spaces could be ready by spring.

🌿 Question for you: Have you tried sheet mulch to create garden beds before? What compost have you used, and have you grown anything through the membrane?
