It’s the first really beautiful day of the year and I’m off to the allotment to get some work done. On the agenda, is cleaning the strawberry bed, harvesting kale, helping the tadpoles in the pond, and looking at what’s happening on everyone else’s plots.

If you have any ideas for what to do with all that kale, let me know as a comment below!

Also, if you’re interested in the Stihl GTA26 Cordless garden pruner for trees and shrubs, you can find it here in the UK: http://bit.ly/3d1dA0C

For most of my gardening life, I’ve used liquid hydroponic fertilizers and nutrients. But I’ve recently switched over to dry nutrients, so let’s take a look at the pros and cons of both of these types of hydroponic nutrients.

Where do you get your indoor plant pots? I hit up 3 popular stores near me: HomeGoods, T.J.Maxx, and DollarTree to see what the selection and price was…I think you’ll be surprised which won the battle!

I ended up getting 4 pots for $36 at T.J.Maxx and 2 hanging pots for $6 in my HomeGoods haul, so a total of 6 pots for $42, which is $7 per pot. I may end up drilling drainage holes in some of these as they’re solid bottoms and somewhat glazed, but for now I’ll just monitor my watering carefully.

Albuca spiralis is one of the weirdest looking succulent plants you’ll ever see. Leaves that look like green curly fries and a yellow, a vanilla-scented flower, and a thick bulb that all of this weird growth is coming out of, it looks like it was designed by a child in a fever dream! It’s one of the easier plants to care for provided you follow some classic rules of thumb of succulent care: lots of light, and water only when necessary.
